Amale's research has been looking into translating and communicating her memory of war through various forms and objects. It encompasses multiple aspects with the imperative to always use destruction and creation which work from the void. Her installations which contemplate the theatre of the world through different scenes and windows, play with the senses and perceptions of viewers, reminding them that looking is a relational act based on selection and exclusion.

Having sat down with Amale we went through the diverse website platforms that are available to website developers now, and shortlisted Squarespace. Working with Amale we then chose a suitable template to work off as a basis for the site. Since the aim of the site was to showcase her current collections; Testimony of a Refugee, Mousharabiah Screens, Through the Fourth Wall, Crafting Memory Lane and Laissez-Moi Dansez, the site needed a main Portfolio section that could show off the different collections and subsets in a cohesive style.

The Squarespace SEO settings were all tweaked and updated with edited URLs, meta descriptions and keywords and the new website, on www.amalefreihakhlat.com was launched. We used Squarespace's straighforward domain management section of the control panel to transfer in the domain name and make sure it was set as the site's default URL for when the site went live.

If you would like to talk to us about helping you manage a project on Squarespace, or any of the other platforms such as Wix, Wordpress, and may more, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us and say hi!
